Turkey: Fethiye to Marmaris yacht tour on a catamaran

A week on a new catamaran through the best bays of south-west Turkey: swimming and snorkelling, the Dalyan river with sea turtles, old Marmaris, Cleopatra Bay and a sunset on Gemiler island.

Accommodation

We sleep on the catamaran in double cabins. The new catamaran has air conditioning, an inverter (230 V sockets throughout the trip), two bathrooms and a kitchen with a fridge and gas stove.

Day-by-day program

Day 1
We meet at the home marina, Ece Marina in Fethiye, check in to the yacht, hold a safety briefing and shop for provisions. Dinner in Fethiye at Pasha Kebab.

Day 2
In the morning we sail across the bay and swim by the nearest islands. Then on to one of the most picturesque bays on the far side of the gulf, where we anchor for the night. Lots of swimming and snorkelling.

Day 3
An early passage to Ekincik Bay, trolling for tuna on the way. A tour up the Dalyan river: sea turtles, Lycian ruins and a cosy town. And we will try blue crabs there.

Day 4
Off to Marmaris! We stroll around the old town, climb the ancient fortress and swim in crystal-clear local bays.

Day 5
Back to the gulf, a walk around Göcek, the hub of the local bohemian scene, and then to Cleopatra Bay: the cleanest water, fishing and ancient ruins.

Day 6
On to Gemiler island, our favourite point on the route. Ruins of ancient Lycia, clear water and an unforgettable sunset that we watch from the island’s highest point.

Day 7
Before handing the yacht back we have time for a meal at a restaurant in Sarsala Bay and a swim in the warm waters of the gulf.

FAQ

What is the difference between bow and stern cabins?

They are different double cabins on the catamaran. A berth in the bow cabin costs €900, in the stern cabin €1000. See the cabin layouts further down the page.

Do I need experience?

No. Basic sailing instruction is included and an experienced skipper is always aboard.
